Linden Man Accused Of Shooting Stepfather Caught In Pennsylvania

A Linden man wanted for shooting his stepfather last month was captured in Pennsylvania, the Union County Prosecutor's Office said.

Authorities had been looking for Derrick E. Merisma after police were called to a Cedar Avenue apartment Oct. 18 on a report of a shooting. The 49-year-old victim had sustained a gunshot wound, authorities said. A 9mm handgun was found at the scene, authorities also said. 

Merisma was tracked to Easton, Pa., where he was pulled over in a traffic stop last week. He is in custody in Pennsylvania pending extradition to New Jersey.
