The fire broke out in the two story home around 9:30 a.m. and was brought under control in less than an hour.

A family of 8 was displaced by the fire and is now being aided by the Red Cross. A local charity, Giving and Receiving Assistance for our Community's Essentials (GRACE), is also helping coordinate donation efforts on behalf of the family, which includes a baby and two toddlers.

According to a post on the Summit Facebook page, a member of GRACE "is currently in contact with the [police] and and will get specifics for anyone looking to donate anything. This will be a long road for them, so we can pace this and see what the need is for tomorrow, next week and into the holidays, I'm sure. As soon as I have more info  I'll share."
