John DiGregorio, 84, Longtime Lyndhurst Resident

LYNDHURST, N.J. – John DiGregorio, of Lyndhurst, died on Tuesday, March 28. He was 84.

Born in Italy, DiGregorio had served in the Italian Army. He came to the United States in 1960. He first lived in Jersey City then in Lyndhurst for 50 years. 

He worked for Swepco Tube Corp. in Clifton for 40 years and part time for Inserra Supermarkets – ShopRite of Lyndhurst – for 20 years. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Lyndhurst.

DiGregorio is survived by his granddaughter, Francesca; siblings Remigio DiGregorio and his wife Nina, Clara and her husband Pierino Carracino, and Pasquale DiGregorio and his wife Immacolta; sister-in-law Immacolta Agresti; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded by his wife, Rosemarie (Agresti); daughter Laurie Anne; and sisters Assunta and Maria.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, March 21, at the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Rd., in Lyndhurst. The funeral service will be at from the funeral home on Saturday at 9 a.m., for a 10 a.m. funeral mass at Sacred Heart Church. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
