The competition, which attracts hundreds of submissions each year, is open to Ringwood elementary, high school and college students, along with students at Lakeland High School.

Participants are requested to submit original prose and poetry with a theme of their choice for evaluation by the library’s panel of judges.

An awards ceremony will be held in May.

In addition, all winning entries will appear in a special booklet printed and distributed by the library.

The last day for submissions is Monday, Feb. 29, 2016.

Complete contest rules and entry forms are available at all Ringwood schools and at the library.

Winners will be notified by mail in April.
