RINGWOOD, N.J. -- Federal officials issued an apology to Ringwood residents for failing to announce the discovery of more dangerous chemicals at the former Fort Motor Company site, according to NorthJersey.com.
Environmental Protection Agency said they waited three months to tell citizens about the 1,4-dioxane found in ground water at nearly 100 times the state standard, NorthJersey.com reported.
The EPA is still developing a cleanup plan for the site, NorthJersey.com said.
