Rosen, a Fair Lawn native and graduate of the high school in 1970, went to art school in Philadelphia before deciding on therapy. She now spends her days helping people "live full and free," as her philosophy goes.

"I feel so blessed to have had and still have an amazing career," she told Daily Voice. "One of the things I say to people is it's so congruent, my work and my life. I think that's an amazing thing to be able to do, to utilize who you are as a human being in your profession."

Rosen's group sessions specialize in general women's issues, emotional eating and weight loss, and grief. She said some people do better in groups while others individually, but talking about those issues can help.

"The best part is seeing people transform," she said, "to give them the kind of support to make their life more balanced, fulfilled."

Rosen started her therapy sessions in 1989, the same year she moved to Pompton Lakes. She attended Montclair State University and earned her master's degree at NYU.

She said the people who visit her do not need fixing, but instead just needs obstacles removed so they can be free to live their lives to the fullest.

"Groups are so special because they're more like real life," Rosen said. "Ultimately the people in the group will bring out issues with other people."
