The 10-week puppy was hit by a car in Mississippi and left to die when a good Samaritan picked up and and brought him to Southern Paws' sister rescue. Southern Paws Inc., founded by Ramsey's Ashley Gardenier is helping place the puppy, who is still in Mississippi.
Batlo suffered multiple fractures but is healing nicely. It is yet to be determined if he will have to have his leg amputated.
Balto is friendly and loves to play, the rescue said.
"Don't let the cast fool you, he is still pretty quick even if only on 3 legs," Gardenier said. "He is loves everyone he meets and wants to be with you at all times."
Because he is a high breed husky he will only be adopted out to people who have prior husky experience.
