POMPTON LAKES, N.J. -- The Pompton Lakes Public Library will start a dog-reading program for kids in January. 

Therapy dogs Polly and Valor will visit the library once a month starting in the new year to visit with kids ages 5-10. 

Registration will open for the first class on Dec. 28. The first meeting will be held on Jan. 11 at 4 p.m. Call 973-835-5661 to register.

The Pompton Lakes Library is located at 333 Wanaque Ave.
