The sweep was carried out on Thursday, April 10, and included help from several divisions of the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office, including the Detective Bureau, Patrol, and Courthouse Division.
“This operation was a collaborative effort involving multiple divisions, including the Sheriff’s Detective Bureau, Patrol, and the Courthouse Division,” Adamo said. “I want commend every individual who was involved in this significant operation.”
According to Adamo, the focus of the operation was individuals who had active warrants for serious criminal charges. By leveraging the resources of the Sheriff's Fugitive Bureau, along with the strategic deployment of patrol and courthouse officers, the sweep led to the swift apprehension of the suspects, the sheriff said.
Among those arrested:
- Michael Benedek, 29, of Paterson — wanted on five warrants for burglary, drug possession, and theft.
- Kevin Torres, 22, of Passaic — charged with unlawful possession of a handgun without a permit, a second-degree crime.
- Silvania Delos-Santos, 25, of Paterson — arrested for contempt involving domestic violence.
- Tayjuan Francis, 27, of Hackensack, and Kwazier Murray, 26, of Haledon — both charged with contempt related to SLAP (Sheriff’s Labor Assistance Program) cases.
- Christoph Espinales, 37, of Lodi — had a warrant for third-degree drug possession.
- Jancarlo Vallejo, 30, of Paterson — wanted for second-degree drug possession with intent to distribute within 500 feet of public property.
- Israel Burgos, 58, of Paterson — charged with using another person's ID to obtain a driver's license and birth certificate, a second-degree offense.
- Gerson Lopez, 35, of Paterson — arrested for third-degree aggravated assault.
- Michael Robinson, 66, of Paterson — charged with second-degree manufacturing, exact details not disclosed.
- Leonel Paulino, 34, of Paterson — arrested for fourth-degree widespread injury.
- Johnny Price, 48, of Paterson — had two child support warrants totaling $26,718, active since Dec. 10, 2024.
- Brian Alfieri, 71, of Passaic — arrested on a third-degree drug possession warrant.
