NORWOOD, N.J. – Ella Guzman, a fourth-grader at Norwood Public School, ranked tenth in the nation at her grade level in the 2016 Math Kangaroo in USA competition.
The 10-year-old was among the winners recently recognized at Bergen County Academies in Hackensack.
Though she loves doing math because it’s challenging, Guzman does not envision a numbers-driven life for herself.
“I would like to be either a writer," she said, "or an ornithologist, a scientist who studies birds."
