OLD TAPPAN, N.J.– Seven Northern Valley/Old Tappan world language students received the Japanese Language and Culture Study Award from the New Jersey Association of Teachers of Japanese.
Consul Fujino, Jiyoon Park, Michelle Ma, Jane Kim, Sung Hyun Back, Eugene Park, and Andrew Hughes each made a short speech about what he or she learned by studying Japanese before accepting the honor.
They were joined by their teachers, Yoko Fukuda and Kei Sakayma, at the Orange Avenue School in Cranford.
