Haworth Students Perform 'The Addams Family'

HAWORTH, N.J. -- Gomez and Morticia invite you to their Gothic mansion for a kooky and spooky musical event, as the Haworth Drama Club performs "The Addams Family," beginning on Thursday, April 28.

Gomez Addams will be played by Jeremy Shinder, a Broadway veteran and eighth-grader.

Addams-family daughter Wednesday, played by Lora Bednarek, wants have just one normal night with her new normal boyfriend and his supposedly normal parents. In addition to the Addams family members you know, you'll encounter meddling, ghostly ancestors as well.

Jeremy Shinder -- an eighth-grader who is already a Broadway veteran, with "A Christmas Story: the Musical" -- will play the lead role of Gomez Addams. In addition to stage, film and television work, Jeremy played the role of Pugsley Addams in the international tour of the show. Now he'll step into Gomez' shoes, and his younger brother, Jacob, will step in as Wednesday's mischievous little brother. Olivia Wasser will play the family matriarch.

The two performances are Thursday, April 28, at 7 p.m., and Saturday, April 30, at 3 p.m., in the Haworth Public School Gym, 205 Valley Rd., in Haworth. Tickets are $10 at the door, and the box office opens 15 minutes before each show.
