A nonstop on-the-go lifestyle made Alice Kim think twice about her career about a financial consultant — so she booked a one-way ticket to South America. Throwing herself into a completely foreign place and culture, she detached from the prestige and material things that seemed to matter so much back West. It was a remarkable transition for our newest columnist.
“I used to seek massage therapy as my only sanctuary when I was a financial consultant,” she said. “The grueling hours, stressful deadlines, and constant travel made my body weak and my mind and spirit weaker.”
There were times before when stress paralyzed her, leaving Kim prone to insomnia and an upset stomach. Nothing helped, she said, until began undergoing regular massages and bodywork. She began feeling less afraid to let go of what she had and start over again.
Now, she feels fortunate to be able to meld the physical, emotional and spiritual into one.
“Our body responds to the way we think, feel, and act,” Kim said.
Today, Alice is licensed by The National Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. She specializes in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Pregnancy, Reflexology, and Hot Stone massages.
We can’t even begin to tell you how glad we are to have her on the CLIFFVIEWPILOT roster.
