TAPPAN, N.J. -- Evelyn Turk Parietti, 90, of Tappan, passed away peacefully at home June 21.
Born Dec. 15, 1925, in Newburgh, N.Y. to Caroline Bauer and Albert F. Turk, she was a former resident of Rockland County. She grew up in Nyack, and graduated from Nyack High School. A graduate of Cooper Union in Manhattan, she achieved a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and worked as a fashion illustrator in New York City and Atlanta.
She married her hometown sweetheart Raymond "Motzie" Parietti in 1949 and moved to Tappan, where she devoted her life to raising their four children and six grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Ray "Motzie " Parietti in 1979.
She is survived by her daughters, Carole Lynn Marino (Julio), Dinah Parietti (James Soto) and Lisa Marucci (Michael); son Raymond Jr.; and grandchildren Giulia and Salvatore Marino, Michael Berean, Michael, Alyssa and Camryn Marucci.
She also was predeceased by her brother Albert "Bobo" Turk in 2003.
A celebration of her life took place at the Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan with burial following at Oak Hill Cemetery in Nyack.
