CRESSKILL, N.J. — A Cresskill teen is being honored by the National YoungArts Foundation for a short film.

Michelle Yu recently was recognized by the foundation as a Merit Winner for "China's Forgotten Children," which looks at the adoption issue in China and the "aging out" process in the country.

Other New Jersey students were recognized for their artistic pursuits by the foundation.

Benjamin Wenzelberg, Sung Won Yoon and Alisa Wadsworth from Tenafly were awarded in the soprano, visual arts and short story categories respectively.

Old Tappan's Chang Cho was recognized for his visual arts submission.

Recipients of a YoungArts award enter an alumni group which includes well-known actresses such as Kerry Washington, Anna Gunn, Viola Davis and many other artists in different fields.
