NORTHVALE, N.J. — Cory Doviak saw his friend Richie "Ballgame" Barton was in need.
After getting married in October, an odd lump on Barton's knee turned out to be stage 4 bone cancer .
Doviak knew Barton would need financial support to fight the illness, so he started a GoFundMe page for the Barton family.
Ten days later, the page has nearly reached triple of the $5,000 originally sought.
Most donations have been between $50 and $100, but some organizations from the community have donated to Barton's case. Including the Pascak Valley Boys Soccer Team, who donated $850.
