"I get a lot of people that walk into this store who have [heard about vaping], but [don't know] how to use one or even what the liquid is made of," VapeHQ Owner Dan Kim said.

Kim started vaping after spending most of his life smoking cigarettes. After experimenting with nicotine patches and gum, he turned to vaping.

"Instead of me quitting smoking, I was trying to get off cigarettes," Kim said.

According to Kim, a traditional cigarette contains thousands of dangerous chemicals. Vapes allowed Kim to smoke the nicotine he craved without the additional chemicals.

Kim will never say that vaping is good for you, in fact, FDA regulations forbid vape shops from saying that, but his experience at the shop speaks for itself.

"I've had older people who smoked for 30 plus years come in, once they leave my store with a device, they tell me they haven't had a cigarette since," Kim said.

Despite this, the FDA maintains that vaping is harmful.

VapeHQ is located in Cliffside Park at 602 Anderson Avenue and in Bergenfield at 36 S Washington Avenue.
