Jose G. Sanchez, of Berryville, VA, sexually assaulted the victim, between ages 13 and 16, while at a party in Allendale last November, according to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella and charging documents obtained by Daily Voice.
On Friday, March 21, the Allendale Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged sexual abuse of a juvenile that had occurred in the past in Allendale, Musella said.
An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allendale Police Department revealed that Sanchez sexually assaulted and endangered a juvenile in Allendale in November 2024, Musella said.
Sanchez was charged on Monday, April 7 with third-degree aggravated criminal sexual contact and endangering the welfare of a child.
On Wednesday, April 9, detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and Allendale Police Department, alongside members of the Clark County arrested Sanchez in Berryville, VA. He was remanded to the Clark County Jail pending extradition to Bergen County.
