Daniel's father confirmed the tragic passing of his "best friend and son" on social media.
The young football player's cancer journey began in 2022, when a GoFundMe launched for the family revealed that he had been diagnosed with an aggressive bone cancer in his leg after waking up with swelling.
“There are many unknowns especially financial costs,” the campaign said at the time. In October 2024, an update revealed the cancer had spread to four places, including Daniel’s spine.
Support services for students and staff will be available beginning Monday, April 7, at Sparta schools, Dr. Beck said. “Counseling and support will be offered at our schools beginning tomorrow morning and will continue for as many days as our students and staff need our support.”
Information regarding Daniel’s memorial services have not yet been announced.
