SADDLE RIVER, N.J. -- Saddle River Day School students recently completed an innovative, educational project an internationally boutique manufacturer.
Students collaborated with Fresh, Inc., an all-natural personal care product company headquartered in New York, NY.
The collaboration with the company challenged SRDS' high school psychology students and eighth graders to develop a fragrance product.
The students created a manufacturing financial model, packaging materials, and advertising concepts for an adolescent product line of Fresh, Inc.
SRDS Upper school students taught the eighth grade students about basic psychology and explained how and why people react differently to various fragrances, colors, and related messaging.
"I was so impressed to see our upper school graphic arts students showing leadership as mentors to our eighth-graders," SRDS' Upper School Dean Doug McLane said.
The partnership of students and Fresh employees began in October and encompassed a multitude of academic disciplines including chemistry, math, psychology, market research, digital graphic arts, and videography.
The project culminated the first week of May with students presenting to the executive leadership of Fresh, Inc. in their New York City offices.
