YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A Waldwick firefighter sustained minor injuries this morning battling a two-alarm blaze in the second-floor apartment of a Waldwick home.
Heavy smoke was pouring from the upstairs of the multi-family home at 87 Franklin Turnpike when firefighters arrived.
The injured firefighter was transported from the scene to a local hospital by members of the Waldwick Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
Although fire damage to the structure was confined to its second floor, downstairs sustained smoke and water damage.
Fire units from Wyckoff and Ho-Ho-Kus assisted, as did Waldwick police.
