Ruby Manalansan Alcaraz, 76, Saddle River Resident

SADDLE RIVER, N.J. -- Saddle River resident Ruby Manalansan Alcaraz died Saturday, Feb. 6. She was 76.

Born in the Philippines, Alcaraz immigrated to the United States with her family in 1984. She worked at Columbia University.

She loved her family and friends, and thoroughly enjoyed gardening. She also loved watching food and shopping channels. "She had ordered so many products from QVC that she could open a store," according to obituary information from the funeral home.

Alcaraz is survived by her husband of 55 years, Roger Alcaraz; children, Dan Victor and his wife Jean Alcaraz, Liza Alcaraz, Joey and his wife Ancher Alcaraz, Rey and his wife Rose Alcaraz, and Laila and Ross Tagupa; grandchildren Kristel, Phoebe and Kayle Alcaraz, Von Jerome, Jacob and Gabriel Alcaraz, Justin, Joshua and Julian Alcaraz, and Matthew Jayden Tagupa; and "too many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and godchildren to list or even count."

She was predeceased by her parents, Quintin Manalansan and Remedius Rodriguez.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be conducted from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13 at Boulevard Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1151 River Road, New Milford.
