Ramaiyer L. Narayan, 75, Of Upper Saddle River

UPPER SADDLE RIVER, N.J. -- Ramaiyer L. Narayan, of Upper Saddle River, died Saturday Aug 13. He was 75. 

Born and raised in India, he immigrated to the United States in 1975, residing in Irvington, N.Y. prior to settling in Upper Saddle River two years ago. 

He graduated from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, India in 1963. He was a member of the American College of Physicians. He served on the board of trustees and was named chief of cardiology at Yonkers General Hospital and American College of Cardiology. 

An avid teacher, he was an associate professor of Medicine at New York Medical College. 

He was the husband of Shanthi Narayan; father of Rajeev Narayan and wife Nidhi and Anush Narayan and husband Ravi Rammoorthy; and grandfather of Roshan, Sajan, Rishi and Riya. He also is survived by six siblings and a granddog, Piper.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the American College of Cardiology or Sai Baba Hospital Puttaparthi, Prasanthi Nilayam, 515 134, District Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh India.
