ALLENDALE, N.J. – Joan Rafferty (née Murray), 83, formerly of Paramus, died Friday, Nov. 27.
Before retiring, Rafferty worked for PCF in Rockleigh as a receptionist. She was a parishioner and devoted choir member of Our Lady of the Visitation R.C. Church in Paramus.
She was the beloved mother of Christine Viccaro and her husband James of Saddle River; Lynn Braia and her husband Ronald of Stamford, Conn.; Daniel Rafferty and his wife Kathleen of Bethlehem, Pa.; devoted grandmother of Heather, Ashley, Scott, Carley, Les, Marnie, Erin and Brandon; great-grandmother of Jason, Madelyn, Julia, Xavier, Savannah, Sienna, Ella, James, Taylor, Zoey, Aryella, Hudson and Erik; and the dear sister of Janet Abbatta and Jacquelynn Nichols and her husband George.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Monday at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 S. Farview Ave., Paramus. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Visitation R.C. Church, 234 N. Farview Ave., Paramus. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Tenafly.
