Grace McIntire, 91, Longtime Ho-Ho-Kus Resident

HO-HO-KUS, N.J. -- Grace McIntire -- a longtime Ho-Ho-Kus resident, formerly of Rutherford -- died on Wednesday, April 27. She was 91.

McIntire graduated from the Rutherford School System and the Ballard Secretarial School in New York City. She also completed courses given by IBM, using those skills at Wright Aeronautical Corporation and Schering Drug Corp.

She went on to become a manager at the American Baptist Convention in New York City. She was the director of volunteers for the Red Cross in Ridgewood, was the president of the Ho-Ho-Kus Library Board, and was an elder and a deacon in the Community Church in Ho-Ho-Kus.

McIntire is survived by her children, Susan Woods of Ho-Ho-Kus, and Gordon McIntire and his wife Sue of Mahwah; grandchildren Kelsea, Shannon, Devon, Harrison, Audrey and Brooke; and three nephews and one niece.

She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Hubert.

Visiting hours will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, April 29, at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave., in Wyckoff. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, at the Community Church of Ho-Ho-Kus, 400 Warren Ave., in Ho-Ho-Kus.
