Katrina Tetschuk, 19, and Amanda Plasse, 14, were nominated by studio owner Lisa Plasse — also Amanda's mother – in September when she was contacted by the show's producer looking for new contestants.
The two vocalists submitted videos of themselves performing and in return received a front-of-the-line pass from AGT officials.
“I’ve never done an audition like this before,” said Tetschuk, of Hackensack, who has a background in musical theater. “I’m good right now but I’ll probably be nervous on Saturday.”
Plasse is nervous to sing Christina Perri's "Arms," but is also excited and has been working hard, her mother said.
Tetschuk will sing Pat Benatar's "Fire and Ice" and is hoping this opportunity will serve as a platform to advance her career.
“This is what I do and it sort of feels like the next step,” Tetschuk said. “It’s a natural progression.”
