Students From Yonkers Performing Arts Group Win National Theater Award

YONKERS, N.Y. -- Students from New York All Stars Fitness and Performing Arts in Yonkers won a Freddie G Award for Excellence in Ensemble Work at the 2016 Junior Theater Festival.

“New York All Stars brought their A-Game. The performers were focused and the ensemble took awesome risks," said Megan Alrutz, who heads the master of fine arts program in Drama and Theatre for Youth and Communities at the University of Texas at Austin.

The All-Stars performed a song during the closing ceremony in Atlanta, Ga., for all 5,000 festival attendees on Jan. 17. 

The following students traveled to the Junior Theater Festival on behalf of New York All Stars Fitness and Performing Arts:: Cathy Begley, Mary Begley, Isabella Brady, Sophia Brady, Mia Byrne, Emi Djonbalaj, Nicole Flanigan, Victoria Franciamore, Cate Genet, Liliana Link, Isabella Nuzzi, Gianna Oliveri, Marissa Patterson, Charlotte Snible, Teagan Urda, and Adianna Von Wiegand.
