According to incident reporter Boyd A. Loving, a series of crashes on both the northbound and southbound lanes led to backups and lane closures, as emergency crews worked to clear the roadway.
On the northbound side, several collisions occurred just north of East Prospect Street. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, though multiple vehicles sustained damage and required removal by tow trucks.
Meanwhile, a southbound crash resulted in one person being transported to the hospital by ambulance. Responding agencies included the Waldwick Police and Fire Departments, as well as an ambulance crew from The Valley Hospital, who assisted in managing the scene and providing aid.
Shortly after these incidents were cleared, another crash occurred on Route 17 northbound between Race Track Road and Hollywood Avenue in Ho-Ho-Kus, resulting in a minor injury. Ho-Ho-Kus Police were on scene to investigate and manage the aftermath of this additional collision.
The back-to-back accidents added significant delays to the morning commute for Veterans Day travelers, as emergency responders worked quickly to restore traffic flow on one of the area’s busiest routes.
