Waldwick To Dedicate Wall Honoring Fallen Veterans

WALDWICK, N.J. -- Waldwick will be unveiling a wall next week dedicated to the borough's military veterans who have died, according to the district's Facebook page.

The Wall of Heroes is to be dedicated at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1, according to the borough.

To have a picture of a loved one added to the wall, applicants must submit a form that includes documentation of current or past residence, proof of the veteran's military service, a copy of the veteran's discharge or DD214, and an 8"X10" military photograph, according to the borough.

Addition to the wall costs $25 and includes a black frame and nameplate engraved with the veteran's name and branch of service, according to the borough, which said that all photos will be displayed on the second floor of the Waldwick Administration Building, 63 Franklin Turnpike.

Though applicants are no longer being accepted for inclusion on the Wall of Heroes in time for the dedication, veterans will be added to the wall throughout the year, according to the borough.

The Wall of Heroes was initiated by Mayor Tom Giordano with support from the Waldwick Borough Council, according to the borough.
