Emergency Gas Leak Evacuates 2 Homes, Closes Morris County Intersection: Developing

An emergency gas leak shut down a Morris County intersection and evacuated two homes on Friday, May 26, according to police and developing reports.

Initial and unconfirmed reports said a gas line was struck on Mt. Pleasant Avenue in East Hanover around 10:30 a.m., requiring crews to clear two homes.

Meanwhile, the roadway was shut down from the intersection of River Road to the back of the Wendy’s restaurant on Route 10 as fire crews responded.
