The attack happened while the woman was working at the GetGo store in Verona on Allegheny River Boulevard on Jan. 9 around 7:15 p.m., according to the family.

A man and woman entered the store and immediately went behind the counter to the kitchen area, so the employee asked them to leave so they attacked her, according to police and the family.

The woman was severely beaten and bruised and had a large clump of hair pulled out to reveal more than a quarter of her scalp, as documented in photos shared by her family.

“I can’t believe somebody would do that to her or to anybody,”Carin Chadwick, the victim’s niece

The woman is taking time off of work, which will cause a major loss of income for the elderly woman. She is also wanting to purchase a wig until her hair grows back. Chadwick launched a GoFundMe campaign page to help this grandmother "get back on her feet." The campaign has raised $3,385 of a $3,000 goal as of Jan. 24.

The suspects fled the scene in a tan or white Lincoln SUV. Anyone with information is all to contact the Verona police department at 412-828-6034.
