The Hummus Republic, a fast-growing Mediterranean-style restaurant chain from California, will hold a soft opening Thursday, April 8 at Pier Village.
The restaurant -- specializing in customizable bowls, baguettes and pitas -- is situated in a 1,500-square-foot space previously leased by Smiley's Cocktails & Eats.
"HR food is always made fresh and served quickly using organic, sustainable, and locally grown ingredients whenever possible," company spokesperson Karen Zabarsky previously told Daily Voice.
The original Hummus Republic opened in 2013 and two years later it partnered with investment group Global Impart Partners to expand the franchise.
Last summer, Pier Village added another new tenant, a 7-Eleven store.
