Woodbridge Man Arrested On Murder Charges

A 45-year-old man from Middlesex County has been arrested on murder charges, authorities said.

Rahul Anumala of the Iselin section of Woodbridge was charged on Wednesday with first-degree murder and first-degree attempted murder, according to  Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Director Robert Hubner of the Woodbridge Police Department.

An investigation found that Anumala assaulted and killed one household member and then attempted to kill another, Ciccone and Hubner said. 

No other details about the alleged attack have been released by police.

Anumala was being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center pending a pre-trial detention hearing in Superior Court.
