A second victim suffered non-life-threatening gunshot injuries on Feb. 3.

Because of their ages, the North Brunswick suspects'  names have not been made public, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and North Brunswick Police Chief Joseph Battaglia.

Mark Atkins, 18, of Plainfield was fatally wounded in the 7:30 p.m. shooting on Marc Drive, they said. He was later pronounced dead at any area hospital.

A 17-year-old shooting suspect was arrested last week and charged with juvenile delinquency for offenses which if committed by an adult would constitute murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose in connection to a fatal shooting, Ciccone and Battaglia said.

The investigation is active and continuing. Anyone with information is urged to call Detective Errol McCalla of the North Brunswick Police Department at 732-247-0922 ext. 311 or Detective Sean Sullivan of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office at 732-745-4060.

As is the case with all defendants, the charges
