Car Downs Pole, Closes Route 70 In South Jersey

Traffic was snarled on a major roadway in South Jersey after a utility pole was knocked down, authorities said.

A crash at about noon Wednesday toppled the pole and wires across the 900 block of Route 70 westbound in Evesham, initial reports said.

A state Department of Transportation crew was closing down the westbound lanes so repairs could begin, reports said.
