Update: Wife Killed, Husband, Toddlers Seriously Injured In Horrific Route 287 Piscataway Crash
A Jamaica, NY woman was killed while her husband and two toddlers survived a Route 287 Piscataway crash with serious injuries, authorities said.
Amarjit Fnu, 37, also of Jamaica, NY, was behind the wheel of a Toyota Rav 4 when the car veered off the roadway, crashed into a tree and overturned just south of Exit 7 at around 3:35 a.m. Thursday, New Jersey State Police Lt. Theodore Schafer said.

Oakland PD: Drug-Using Ex-Con From NY Was Carrying Gun
An ex-con nabbed by Oakland police on drug charges was carrying a handgun, authorities said.
They first grabbed Logan Dipaolo, 24, of Chester, NY, after receiving a call shortly before 9 a.m. Monday of a man who at first was laying outside a vehicle on Franklin Avenue, Police Detective Lt. Christian Eldridge said.
Seeing a responding officer, Dipaolo got up and ran into the woods near Route 287, Eldridge said.
Officer Christopher Tinio and Detective Robert Hintzen quickly got him into custody, then found several heroin folds and hypodermic needles in his car, the lieutenant said.

Flying Concrete Slab Smashes Through Windshield Seriously Injuring Morristown Driver, Njsp Says
An errant slab of concrete came crashing through the window of an SUV on Route 287 in Morristown, seriously injuring the driver, authorities said.
Paul Gamerdinger, 55, was headed northbound when the "concrete debris" hit the hood of his car and bounced up through his windshield around 7 a.m. Saturday morning, near mile marker 39.6, New Jersey State Police Trooper Alejandro Goez said.
Gamerdinger's 17-year-old rear seat passenger was also injured, Goez said.
State police were investigating the incident, which was not considered to be malicious, Goez said.
