NEWARK, N.J.– The Ramsey High School hockey team defeated Glen Rock, 5-1, to capture the Public B state title Monday night at the Prudential Center.
Senior forward Kyle DelBel powered the fourth-seeded Rams (25-2-2) with two first-period goals and two second -eriod assists.
This was Ramsey's third straight trip to the Public B final and the first under new head coach Dean Portas.
Glen Rock cut the lead to 2-1 in the second period, but the Rams put the game out of reach with three unanswered goals, two by Anthony Steffe.
Ramsey goaltender Tyler Harmon made 16 saves.
The runner-up Panthers finished the season with a 23-3-3 mark.
