MAHWAH, N.J. -- Eleven students from Ramapo College of New Jersey are spending winter break focusing on bird conservation at Santuario De Lapas El Manantial in Aranjuez, Puntarenas in Costa Rica.
The young people are participating in a project to help support native, endangered great green macaws and scarlet macaws along with other animals needing help, school officials said.
This is one of many study abroad opportunities at Ramapo College in Mahwah to give students hands-on opportunities to apply their knowledge to real efforts.
