MAHWAH-RAMSEY, N.J. -- Home owners intent on blocking a proposed Wawa in their neighborhood are asking the community to help by a launching a petition drive against the store, according to NorthJersey.com.
The petition reads "No argument can be made that this project would increase the quality of life in the Ramsey community," NorthJersey.com reported.
The main complaint is the store is too close to residences, it's too big and the location is in a dangerous spot, NorthJersey.com said.
The petition has nearly 700 signatures after two months of circulation, and the organizers hope to have 1,000 by the end of the year, NorthJersey.com added.
Wawa has two Bergen County locations — in Lodi and Garfield
