Gregory Weathers was in the courtroom Tuesday as his trial before a three-judge panel got underway. Weathers, 34, is maintaining an insanity defense against charges of murder and related weapons charges in the killing of Jose Araujo, 31, of Milford, on March 26, 2015, the CT Post reports.

Witnesses at the construction site recalled seeing the man approach Araujo, ask about a job, then leave. When he returned, he began shooting at Araujo, said witnesses who also recalled the bloody scene in court, the CT Post says.

Two psychiatrists are expected to take the stand when the trial resumes Wednesday, the CT Post says.
