MAHWAH, N.J. -- The Zoning Board recently approved plans to heighten a 150-foot cell tower by 20 feet in the Ramapo Mountains, according to NorthJersey.com.
The proposal, by American Tower Corp. will enable the tower to connect with others in the area. Microwave antennas, as opposed to cellular antennas, will be attached to transmit data, NorthJersey.com reported.
No residents attended the meeting to challenge the added height, NorthJersey.com said.
Towers at three sites in the township yield a combined $500,000 annually, added NorthJersey.com.
