LITTLE FALLS, N.J. -- The deer population is growing in Little Falls and officials are reminding residents that it's illegal to feed wildlife, reports northjersey.com.

The Town Council formed a Wildlife Committee and the long-quiet Great Notch Association recently met to discuss growing concerns over deer, the paper said.

Deer can cause an increase in car accidents and can also spread Lyme disease and ticks.

Feeding the deer encourage them to return, officials told the paper.
