Sunday's event was to raise awareness for babies born prematurely.
"I am honored to represent our community in so many ways, and helping children is No. 1," Mahwah Mayor Bill Laforet said.
The Mahwah Mamas group was the second-highest fundraising group, the mayor added.
"It's a great feeling knowing we're all helping real families," the March of Dimes wrote.
"Right now, babies need all the help they can get," participant Genelle Manso wrote on her fundraiser page. "Premature birth affects about 380,000 babies here in the United States. I’m walking... to get the message out about this terrible problem and you can help."
