MAHWAH, N.J. -- The granddaughters of Joyce Kilmer will take part in the day named in his honor at the Darlington Schoolhouse on Sunday, Jan. 31.
Joyce Kilmer Day will include a video of Met Opera great Robert Merrill singing musical adaptation of “Trees," self guided tours of the schoolhouse, and a discussion of the new "Plant a Tree" initiative.
The event is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
Deborah Kilmer is an accomplished composer of neo-classical music and a choral conductor. She is the mother of four children and lives in Princeton.
Noelie Kilmer Angevine was a career teacher. She writes poetry and paints watercolors, and lives in Germantown, Md.
The Darlington Schoolhouse is located at 600 Ramapo Valley Rd.
