Free Admission For Veterans This Friday At Norwalk Historical Museum

NORWALK, CONN. -- As a gesture of gratitude to those in the military, Norwalk Historical Society officials are offering free museum admission for all veterans and active military personnel on Friday for Veterans Day.

From noon to 4 p.m. Friday, veterans and military personnel can browse for free exhibits and artwork on display at the museum, 141 East Ave., in Norwalk. Three exhibits are currently featured, and they center around the history and diversity of Norwalk.

Exhibits include Norwalk Collects: Celebrating Four Historic Collections; and Eating off the Landscape: The Farrington Lockwood Dessert Service, curated by Elizabeth Pratt Fox; and Norwalk: Portrait of Diversity, with photography by the late Tony Velez.

The museum's gift shop showcases the work of over 15 Connecticut artists and artisans and features an array of merchandise, such as home decor, paintings, mixed media art, photography, greeting cards, jewelry, ornaments, books, housewares, clothing, accessories, vintage-inspired toys and pottery. Historical society logo gear is also available at the gift shop, officals said.
