Newark Anti-Violence Activist's 15-Year-Old Daughter Kidnapped, Killed In South Carolina
The missing 15-year-old daughter of an anti-violence activist in Newark was found dead after leaving her home in South Carolina, authorities said. Sanaa Amenhotep had last been seen leaving her northeast Columbia home with an acquaintance on April 5, according to a release from the AWARE Foundation, Inc. and the Richland County Sheriff’s Department. Her body was found early Thursday morning in a patch of woods in Lexington County, Richland County Sheriffs said during a video press conference. A pre-dawn police pursuit from Garfield into Elmwood Park ended with a crash, the arrest of a passenger carrying a gun and a search for the fleeing driver, authorities said. Councilwoman Indicted For Using Government Credit Cards To Stalk Magic Johnson In Newark
A South Carolina councilwoman was indicted on public corruption charges for using government credit cards to book pricey trips -- including one to Newark in order to stalk NBA Hall of Famer Magic Johnson, the Columbia Post and Courier reports. The 24-count indictment was issued by the state grand jury Thursday against Richland County Council Vice Chairwoman Dahli Myers.
