Hackensack Ex-Con Charged With ½ Pound Of Coke, $12G Sketchy Cash In Illegally Parked Corvette
A hardcore ex-con was charged with having nearly a half-pound of cocaine and $12,000 in suspect cash in a stolen car that he left idling in a fire lane outside a shopping mall in Hackensack. Jarrett Bruce, 39, was initially released at the Shops at Riverside just off westbound Route 4 after Lt. Sean Briggs ran a computer check, found a mismatched VIN and impounded the 2022 Chevy Corvette in early April, Hackensack Police Capt. Michael Antista said. Discovering that the ‘vette had been reported stolen, police had grounds to seek -- and obtain -- a search warrant. They found the drugs and cas…

: Bergen Prosecutor’s Detectives Nab Escaped 'James Bond Gang' Fugitive In Hudson
A James Bond Gang associate who escaped from a halfway house in March was captured Friday in North Bergen by detectives from the Bergen County prosecutor’s office. He remained a fugitive for six months before members of Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella’s Special Investigations Squad tracked down and nabbed Chance near the corner of Kennedy Boulevard and 89th Street. They brought him to the Bergen County Jail on an esca…

They’re the criminal version of such musical oldies acts as the Temptations and Quiet Riot. The infamous James Bond Gang of burglars is back in several New Jersey counties, authorities say – only without their original members. It was in the mid-1990s that David Kirkland hooked up with Teaneck High School buddy Terence Lawton, who owned a detailing shop in Englewood where he created a car that gave the founding burglary crew its nickname. Pricey homes in Paramus, Englewood Cliffs and elsewhere yielded the gang an average of $30,000 in cash and valuables during what investigators said were …

Haworth Sergeant Recognizes, Nabs Ex-Englewood Basketball Star Who Claimed To Be Someone Else
Call it fame or call it notoriety: Trying to tell a police officer in Bergen County that he's someone else wasn't getting 6-foot-8 former Englewood basketball phenom turned career criminal Sean Banks very far. Banks was a passenger in a car with Florida license plates that was pulled over for a traffic violation by Haworth Police Sgt. Gianluca Ragone last Friday. Wanted by Englewood police for yet another domestic violence assault, he gave Ragone a different name, Detective Sgt. Justin Fox said. Trouble was: Ragone knew the onetime Bergen Catholic star from his days on the hardwood, which …

Prosecutor: Bond Gang Successor Tampers With Witness In Domestic Violence Case
One of the last successors of the infamous James Bond Gang burglary crew was charged with witness tampering after he tried to get a woman to drop domestic violence charges, authorities said. Aasim Boone, 35, had only just been released from state prison this past March after serving four years for an Old Tappan home break-in. He's been in the Bergen County Jail since July 16, when he was arrested and charged with breaking into homes in Englewood, Hackensack, Oradell, Paramus, Teaneck and Tenafly with three accomplices. "Shortly thereafter, an investigation ensued into Boone and his co…
