Wyckoff firefighters and DPW workers contained a garbage truck fire in the municipal complex. Heavy smoke from the hopper quickly drew attention in the parking lot of Memorial Field at Scott Plaza off Franklin Avenue around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 24. Garbage Truck Goes Up In Flames, Driver Trying To Save SUV Crashes In Wayne
No injuries were reported after a garbage truck caught fire and a driver trying to move his SUV away from it crashed in Wayne late Monday morning. The fire, which ignited on Robin Hood Way near Longell Avenue shortly before 11 a.m. April 10, not only destroyed the truck's cab, witnesses said. It caused a crash when a driver tried to move a white Explorer that was parked nearby, they said. Garbage Truck Fire Behind Hackensack School Quickly Doused
Hackensack firefighters contained and doused a Tuesday morning garbage truck fire behind a school. They responded in the rear of the K-4 Fanny M. Hillers School off Longview Avenue, which was closed for summer vacation, around 8:30 a.m. Members of Engine 2 quickly extinguished the smoky fire, which was contained to the engine compartment.
