Hillsdale Motorcyclist, 62, Remains Critical After Westwood Crash
UPDATE: A 62-year-old motorcyclist from Hillsdale remained hospitalized with critical injuries following a crash in Westwood. The victim was headed east on Old Hook Road as he passed the green light for Kinderkamack Road at 8:44 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, Police Lt. Mark Foley said. Heading west was a Mercedes sedan driven by a 75-year-old woman, the lieutenant said. She turned left to go south on Kinderkamack Road and struck the motorcycle, Foley said. A 71-year-old motorcyclist was in serious condition following a collision Monday morning in Emerson, authorities and responders said. Responding Emerson police officers swiftly applied a tourniquet to the Lyndhurst motorcyclist's right leg just about the ankle following the crash at the corner of Forest and Revere avenues outside Beth El Cedar Park Cemetery around 9 a.m. May 8. An Uber driver punched a customer in the head after refusing him a ride from a Bergen County golf course, authorities said. A 13-year-old boy told police two men in a pickup truck tried to abduct him near a busy Washington Township shopping center on Saturday. Man Killed By Self-Inflicted Gunshot At Emerson Home
A 29-year-old man was killed by a self-inflicted gunshot in the basement of his parents' Emerson home on Saturday, responders said. Investigators were trying to determine whether it was accidental or intentional. The victim, whose father is a retired police officer, was pronounced dead at the home shortly after he was shot in the head around 2:30 p.m. The Bergen County Prosecutor's Major Crimes Unit and Emerson police were investigating.
