The program, which is free, is sponsored by the Dorson Community Foundation of East Orange. The scholarship recipients will form a cohort of 15 to 20 students who will take part in the program together. The Dorson Scholarship Program serves ninth-grade students predominantly from inner-city backgrounds.

Students will take part in programs including SAT prep and college advising course. Students may also have the opportunity to take part in related programs, including a STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) program; a summer college program at Cornell University; and the student diplomacy corps, giving students a chance to study overseas.

Applications are due Sept. 30. For more information click here.
